A Federação das Associações e dos Agricultores das Comunidades de Ouro Branco – FAACOB é uma Associação de direito privado sem fins lucrativos, constituída com o objetivo de criar um espaço institucional com autonomia para desenvolver ações em defesa dos direitos da população que se encontra em situação de exclusão social no estado de Alagoas, tendo como finalidade básica prestar assistência técnica, sócio religioso de desenvolvimento integrado e promoção dos direitos humanos, atuando na perspectiva do cumprimento da sua missão institucional através da articulação das entidades parceiras com instituições da sociedade civil com vistas ao atendimento qualificado aos grupos e comunidades atendidos pelos seus programas e projetos.. A FAACOB, tem se preocupado e vem proporcionando ações que contribua com as condições de vida dos excluídos e excluídas que residem no semiárido alagoano que sobrevivem em condições abaixo da linha da pobreza e que tem suas condições de vida ainda mais agravadas nos períodos de estiagem, também tem contribuído durante estes anos de existência com a superação da miséria na região através de ações proativas na área de recursos hídricos, com o apoio à construção de cisternas de placas, e recuperação de estruturas hídricas, educação ambiental, Assistência Técnica para agricultores e agricultoras familiares visando à melhoria de renda das famílias, formação de bancos comunitários de sementes e na construção e intervenção das políticas públicas evitando assim o êxodo rural.. .
