Festival europske kratke priče je jedan od prvih festivala u Europi posvećen kratkoj priči! Ono po čemu se FEKP razlikuje od većine drugih hrvatskih festivala suradnja je s domaćim nakladnicima, stipendiranje i usavršavanje mladih prevoditelja, sistematski rad na tome da se preko kontakata proizašlih iz festivalskih druženja Europi predstave suvremeni hrvatski pisci...
ukratko, svijest o tome da, ako želi biti živ, Festival ne može postojati mimo onih koji čine književnu scenu na kojoj diše..

Na FEKP-u je tako do danas gostovalo preko 70 pisaca iz 15 europskih zemalja.
Festival je ugostilo šest hrvatskih gradova.
U sklopu festivala objavljeno je i predstavljeno 15 antologija europske kratke priče, uz bar još toliko knjiga festivalskih gostiju.
Festival je organizator i sedam prevoditeljskih radionica iz suvremenih europskih književnosti, čije pobjednike, u suradnji s međunarodnim partnerima, nagrađujemo studijskim boravcima u Poljskoj, Italiji, Irskoj, Švedskoj i Španjolskoj..

Na FEKP-u su predstavljeni ugledni europski književni festivali, a po ugledu na njega književnica Olga Tokarczuk u Wroclawu je pokrenula sestrinski Međunarodni festival priče..

Osim gostovanja stranih autora u Hrvatskoj, Festival je imao čast dogovoriti i više europskih gostovanja hrvatskih pisaca.
Surađujemo s uglednim organizacijama, inicijativama i institucijama širom Europe.
U suradnji s gradom Zadrom Festival je u Zadru osnovao rezidenciju za pisce, u kojoj će svake godine boraviti po jedan sudionik FEKP-a..
