The intensive pre-degree program prepares you over two semesters for the challenge of studying at an international university. All students who successfully complete the program receive guaranteed admission to Jacobs University’s undergraduate programs.. . Based on your individual academic background, your needs and goals, you can design your own Foundation Year learning experience. After placement tests and consultation with your academic advisor you can choose between a number of different preparatory and orientation classes. Foundation Year students may furthermore attend regular undergraduate courses and are hence able to obtain up to 40 transferable ECTS credits. The language of instruction is English.. . -- PREPARATION: As a Foundation Year student, you can choose between a range of intensive preparatory classes that will allow you to improve your study skills, to boost your math and science expertise and to fine-tune your academic English.. . -- ORIENTATION: The program offers orientation possibilities in engineering and computer sciences, natural sciences and life sciences, social sciences as well as economics and management. The possibility to take undergraduate courses from different academic fields, career orientation workshops and academic advising ensure that you can make an informed decision what major to pick at the end of the year.. . — QUALIFICATION: In the course of the program, all students can take the SAT on campus (standardized university admission test). Intensive SAT training allows all students to get ready for the test. Students can also take the IELTS as part of the program.. . As a Foundation Year student, you can take advantage of the chance to live and learn on a campus with students from over 100 nations while exploring Europe!. .
