Detailed description is The Gite de Nedé is a beautifully renovated barn set on the side of the Vallée de Bellongue at 850m altitude with views over the surrounding mountains. The Gite de Nedé is a newly renovated barn, set in a quiet mountain hamlet in the French Pyrenees.... . It is an independent property with good road access, perched on the side of the mountain at 850m above the village of Augirein. . . The larger town of Castillon is only 10 minutes drive away, with shops, post office, bars and restaurants, and Saint Girons is 30km away with its famous vibrant saturday market.. . The Gite de Nedé is self contained and sleeps 4 comfortably with 1 double and 2 singles on mezzanine floors (additional cots/beds available). The bedding is vintage french linen,cotton and feather duvets and pillows.. . It Is has its own fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, electric oven with gas hobs, hot shower and is heated with a cosy wood burner. . . It has its own private mosaic patio / garden area with bbq for dining and all round access to acres of wild mountain forests, meadows and rivers. . . There is an indoor and outdoor compost toilet and It has its own parking space.. . We live nearby and are an English Family with children. We are available if guests needs help or advice....We live on our smallholding where we primarily specialise in farming organic, free range 'Gascon Noir' pigs. We believe we produce the best pork in the world! . . We are real 'foodies' and run a catering business based on the concept of seasonal, local and organic. We are in a position to offer our guests the unique chance to buy a seasonal food box based on these principles and can cook meals if required. . . We also run an organic juice bar every Saturday at the wonderful St Girons market, where people from the 7 valleys converge to socialise, sell and buy. We can provide guests with fresh organic juices and smoothies on request. . . There is no internet reception in our Gite but some mobile phone reception. There are two local cafes / bars with internet access only 5 minutes drive away,. . Due to the open plan design and connecting ladders to the upper mezzanines, this property is suitable for babes-in-arms or children aged 5+. . . For those wishing to catch the ski season in the beautiful relaxed . Pyrenees, this property is just 35 min drive to Mortis and an 1 1/2hr to the larger resort of Guzet. If there is snow locally there are lots of super cool luging/sledging slopes within a few minutes walk.. . There are no artificial lights in our hamlet so you can catch all the astronomical delights of the sky on a clear night.. . There are literally hundreds of walks from outside the door, as gentle or challenging as you like, also cycle routes, (indeed the Tour de France passes our village every two years) and crystal clear rivers for swimming. . . Within an hours drive are stunning mountain peaks and the spanish border.. . Sorry we can't accept dogs due to the farm animals and the property is a no smoking property.. . . . .
