Detailed description is Join Us and Take Action! Email us at gzcyork@gmail.com. Global Zero Canada is a student group founded at York University in Toronto as part of the international Global Zero movement. This movement, launched in December 2008 by 200 political, military, business, faith and civic leaders from around the world, seeks to build mass global public support for the phased and verified elimination of all nuclear weapons.. . We support the Canadian governmentβs stated goal to "reduce and eliminate nuclear weapons, steadily advocating national, bilateral and multilateral measures." Canadaβs call for nuclear disarmament must be loud and clear. And in order for it to be such, it is of crucial importance to raise awareness of the seriousness of the nuclear threat among Canadian citizens and increase the public's involvement in activities aimed at facilitating the progress towards Global Zero.. .
