Detailed description is The Conway County Care Center hosts its Harvest of Hope Food Drive each year to replenish the center's food pantry so no one in Conway County goes hungry. It is time for the Conway County Care Center’s annual Harvest of Hope Food Drive. We are asking for you to join hands with us to keep this ministry thriving. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of needy people by supporting the Care Center’s mission: “No one in Conway County goes hungry.” . . The Care Center was started because the work to feed the needy was done by individual churches, and no one church could handle all the needs of the community. For the past several years, the Care Center has been faithful to meet individuals and families at their point of need. The combined support of churches, individuals, and government allowed us to serve the most we have ever served at 2,000 households and 4,000 people in eight months. Our purchased food, not counting food donations, is approaching $2,600 per month with about half as much as that coming from USDA. This amount does not include the short-term assistance we provide when able to those in special, extreme situations.. . The past year has been challenging as we have experienced a decrease in financial support. However, demand for food and assistance is at an all-time high. The Conway County Quorum Court and the Morrilton City Council provide some financial help, as do area churches both monetarily and through contributions to the Care Center’s Thrift Store. Still, the majority of our resources comes from community supporters like you. . . On October 25, plans include a full day of gathering food to help meet the needs of the Conway County Care Center. Non-perishable food items will be collected to help “Fill the Truck” at Haynes Home Center (4 Davis Drive near Kroger in Morrilton) on Saturday, October 25 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. . . After the “Fill the Truck” event, the 7th Annual Gospel Singing fundraiser will follow at the Rialto Theater in downtown Morrilton from 6:30 until 9:30 pm. The cost to attend the gospel singing is a minimum $5 donation or 5 cans for adults and $3 or 3 cans for children ages 12 to 18. Admission is free for children under age 12. Gospel night performers come from area churches or are individuals who share gospel songs. . . Additional dates to deliver nonperishable food items are from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm on Tuesday, October 21; Wednesday, October 22; and Friday, October 24 at the Care Center Thrift Store located at 108 West Broadway in downtown Morrilton.
