Detailed description is Library is integrated with digital technology and electronic information resources. There is an active and continuous development program for the Library.. Library has a collection of more than 11,000 books on subjects which are relevant to the courses taught at the institute. Moreover, a balanced collection of books on Islam, Literature, and other disciplines is also available. In addition, the library has subscribed to more than 50 journals / magazines and five newspapers to meet the requirements of researchers, faculty members and students.. Besides prints resources, online access to more than 50,000 e-books and 23,000 journals is provided by the library under Higher Education Commission’s “Digital Library Programme” in which 220 leading international publishers have participated.. Services provided by the library include: Circulation and Reservation of books, Online information retrieval, Document Delivery Service (DDS), Current Awareness Service (CAS), Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI), Inter Library Loan (ILL), digital library, membership of different societies, and information & orientation sessions.. Materials that are not held by the library might be borrowed temporarily from other libraries on inter library loan basis. To avail this facility, user needs to submit demand to the Librarian. Reprographic facility is available with library. Users can get the photocopy of required information from reference materials like reference books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, journals and magazines etc.. The library's orientation and information program at IST extends the role of library in ensuring that users make the most effective use of library resources. The program is designed to educate the faculty members, students, and staff in locating printed and electronic knowledge resources to fulfill their information needs.
