Helping great people become great PT's is why we exist! iPT may be relatively new to the Sydney fitness education scene, but we're certainly not new to fitness education! The origins of iPT were born in the late 1990's when several of iPT's key staff completed degree's in Physical Education and entered the fitness industry to work as Personal Trainers, and then moved in gym management and/or established businesses devoted to recruiting, training, managing and mentoring Personal Trainers. . . Throughout these formative years it became clear that:. 1. High level 'degree' education did not teach the fundamental vocational skills required to be successful in Personal Training. 2. The ability to grow the fitness industry, help more customers achieve great results and help Personal Trainers to build successful PT businesses was seriously hampered by a lack of high quality education focused on the specific vocational skills required by Personal Trainers. . In response to this several of iPTs key staff began working in qualification design and development to produce a qualifications (in NZ) that were very specific to building the requisite knowledge and skills required by Personal Trainers. After these qualifications were developed it became obvious that the industry needed a leader to show how to deliver these qualifications in order to produce truly industry ready graduates, hence the New Zealand Institute of Health and Fitness (www.nzihf.co.nz) was born in the mid 2000's. . . After years of refining and continually improving Personal Trainer specific courses in NZ, and then consulting with leading fitness clubs and managers in Sydney we determined that if we could find tutors and assessors with significant experience in the Sydney fitness industry, and we could tailor the courses to be Sydney specific then we would be able to start producing high quality, industry ready and savvy Personal Trainers for the Sydney fitness industry. We found and recruited some exceptional local expertise...and we refined the courses we deliver to suit... . And hence iPT was born... and this Facebook page is one of our ways to stay engaged with our students and the industry into which our students enter..
