Detailed description is A central repository of Kerala State Spatial Data Kerala State Spatial Data Infrastructure (KSDI) has been established under Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) for the purpose of acquiring, processing, storing, distributing and improving utilization of spatial data. It is in line with National Spatial Data Structure initiative. Kerala State IT Mission which is accorded as a technical advisor to the Government of Kerala in relation to IT related endeavours.. KSDI facilitates a framework of geographic data, metadata and tools that are interactively connected in order to use spatial data in an efficient and flexible way through a Web-GIS platform (Kerala Geoportal).It acts as a central gateway which enables users to access organized spatial data (online/offline) for better planning and decision making. It is also planned to enhance the spatial data content as well as the technology involved in dissemination. This will foster access to organized spatial data, use of infrastructure at community, local, state, regional and national levels for sustained economic growth. Stakeholders can search, view and analyze spatial data pertaining to other departments. Spatial datasets generated, maintained and provided by various departments of the State Government are proposed to be made accessible through the project data clearing house mechanism. Clearing House which is a decentralized system of servers located on Internet that contain descriptions of available geospatial data, is being planned to be fully functional in near future. It is also proposed that the site can also be extended to sale and purchase of data online..
