Detailed description is Kiwanis Club of Clatskanie is a local club dedicated to serving children, seniors, and the community. Weekly meetings Tuesdays at 6:15 pm at Fultano's. The Clatskanie Kiwanis Club has been in operation since June, 1928 and was sponsored by the Astoria club. The club has a continuing program of community service. . . We present three $2500 scholarships a year to a graduating seniors, as well as two Chance to Become scholarships in partnership with the Columbia Learning Center.. . Locally we sponsor a community Easter egg hunt, we contribute to the Turning Point and the Senior Center, as well as sponsoring Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, in addition we contribute to 39 other local organizations. We also sponsor our local Key Club for High School students.. . Our club, in cooperation with other Kiwanis clubs contributes hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to Kiwanis Doernbecher Children's Cancer Program (KDCCP). . . In addition, our club contributes hundreds of dollars annually to the Kiwanis International Project -Eliminate MNT. This project is in cooperation with UNICEF to stamp out Maternal Neonatal Tetanus.. . Our active membership includes 40+ men and women from our local community. We are all volunteers who donate our time and energy to improve the lives of the children in our community and beyond..
