Kritika was born in a small town in U.P called Bareli- Her Hometown is Madhya Pradesh, India. Her father is a dentist, her mother is a nutritionist, and she has a younger brother who is studying. She was pursuing fashion designing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology before she took up acting as a career. Kritika’s journey into Telly world began with ‘Yahan Ke Hum Sikander’(Zee Next, 2006) when she was caught bunking college. A group of people from the production house were visiting her campus and she was approached to play the character of Arshiya. Not many people know that Kritika has also done a cameo role as Tanya in Sab TV’s ‘Jersey No.10’ in 2007-2008. She appeared in a few episodes of this youth based show. In 2008, she took up her first Balaji show, ‘Kitani Mohabbat Hai’ (NDTV Imagine) and played the lead role of Arohi Sharma, which was very much loved by the audience. She then went on to play Prateeksha in ‘Pyaar Ka Bandhan’ (Sony TV) in 2009. In 2010, she participated in the dance reality show on Star Plus called ‘Zara Nachke Dikha 2’. Kritika has also played a small cameo role as Geeta in ‘Ganga Ki Dheej’ in 2010. Her first show ‘Kitani Mohabbat Hai’ gained so much popularity that Imagine TV came up with ‘Kitani Mohabbat Hai Season 2’ in which she played the protagonist, Arohi Ahluwalia since November 2010. Kritika and the male protagonist of the show, Karan Kundra created such charisma on the screen, that for the first time in the Indian television history, the producer Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms and Imagine TV, were compelled to bow to the public demand, and make a Sequel of the show! No other actor or show has ever been able to achieve this pinnacle of popularity on the Indian television. Kritika then went on to do Sony TV’s ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ portraying the role of Dr. Nidhi Verma. KTLK started on 3rd october 2011. It was a Rajan Shahi show and Kritika’s performance as Dr. Nidhi has been very much appreciated by her fans. She appeared on an episode with her on-screen co-star Sharad Kelkar on an episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. Recently, Kritika did a cameo as Veera in ‘Ek Thi Naayka’ on Life Ok for the promotion of Ekta Kapoor’s movie, ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ along with other popular faces like Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar, Shweta Tiwari,Mauli Ganguly, Aamna Shariff, Ankita Lokhande and Pooja Gor.
