Detailed description is Larimer County 4-H, Science Out-of-School is a free after-school program for children in grades 3-5. This is a joint project of AmeriCorps and 4-H. After-school programs can be expensive, but our mission is to provide free science programs for children grades 3-5 in Larimer County. Our goal is to make science fun and hands-on while including aspects of technology, engineering, and math. Studies show that children are losing interest in science at an alarming rate and the United States is falling far behind other countries in innovation. We want to show children the possibilities that await when they learn about science - the possibility to create, to explore and to discover. We live in a vast and mysterious world. Invite your children to participate in our program where each week will build on the last, encouraging deep thinking. Each girl and boy who participates in our program will learn how science affects the real world while meeting real scientists, engineers, and experts from the field. Spark their interest.
