The project focuses on three main types of information, and on strengthening communication, networking and capacity:. . Market information. Building on existing structures, the project supports efforts to monitor, analyse and report on staple food prices and other market variables, and to link national efforts with regional and international food market information systems.. . Climate information. The project works to improve understanding and analysis of climate information and its potential impacts on agriculture, food security and livelihoods in order to better understand seasonal agricultural disaster risks and those associated with. climate change.. . Vulnerability. The project supports assessments and analysis that helps identify and profile food insecure households and communities, and to enhance understanding of livelihoods to guide both emergency response and long-term policy and programming.. . Cross-cutting activities. The project strengthens communication, networking and capacity building to enhance the utility and use of food security information,. to identify and share lessons learned and best practices, and to add value and synergy to related initiatives.
