In summer, events vary for different for age groups, but can include: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 60m Hurdles, 80m Hurdles, 90m Hurdles, 100m Hurdles, 1100m Walk, and 1500m Walk. Further, many field events are on offer, including Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus and Javelin. . . The highlights of the Track and Field season are the State Multi-Event Championship, the Region and State Relay Championships, and the Region and State Track and Field Championships. . . During winter, many Centre’s operate a Cross Country competition. Athletes can then compete in the State Cross Country Championships, as well as the Road Relay Championships. . . Further to competition, athletes are able to enhance their skills and knowledge in Athletics by becoming involved in such educational opportunities as the Junior Development Squad for U12-U16, the U11 Skills Clinic, the U9-U10 Skills Clinic, and the U9-U16 Race Walking Coaching Clinic.
