In 1875 a group of Christians living in the Highland area needed a place to come together for the purposes of worshipping God and growing in the faith. The Community Church, whitch started in 1875, later became known as Lower Highland Bible Church. Over 135 years have elapsed since this congregation began ministering in this community and over the years many things changed. The Church closed for a short period of time during WW1 due to a lack of leaders. The Church incorporated and relocated to the present location in 1951. Their have been attempts to get the church to join several denominations or associations of churches, but this body is committed to being a non-denominational church where anyone who is committed to following Jesus could come and worship and be a part of the membership.. . The times and methods of ministry have changed but our goals have never changed. We are committed to Evangelizing, Congregating, and Discipling men, women, and children for Jesus Christ. The size of our body is not important but our commitment is to vision and faithfulness. . . We are committed to being on the cutting edge of ministering to people in our community and around the world. To this end the Church is seeking to not be dependant on the Pastor to get anything done. Rather, We believe that every member is called to be priests in God’s Church and as priests our dependence is on God and the involved of the whole body in ministry both within the building as well as in the community. Therefore, we seek to equip and release people to minister as God has gifted, called, and empowered each believer for His Kingdom purposes..
