Ever wondered how your fashion designs would look on the ramp? Or ever wanted to do the most you could do with your time in 5 days? . . The LUMS Olympiad provides you with the jumpstart you need into any or every creative field that you're interested in. From drama to fashion to art, we've got it all at the biggest event of its kind in Pakistan! The Olympiad is a collaborated effort from ten societies at LUMS, which is headed by the LUMS Media Arts Society (LMA) and the Debates and Recitation Society (DRUMS), and is attended by schools and universities from all over Pakistan. All the teams participate in various competitive events as diverse as football, declamations and live art and battle for the coveted Olympiad Trophy.. . In addition to the competitive events, various social events are held creating a festive environment on the LUMS campus which continues till the last day of the LUMS Olympiad. These events include masquerade balls, carnivals, concerts, treasure hunts and so much more to keep participants entertained. . . The first LUMS Olympiad was held in March 2007, and proved to be a huge success with 600 students registering for the event, from over 40 institutions. Soon, the Olympiad was recognized as one of the largest university events in Pakistan with over a thousand people attending from all four provinces of the country. The number of competitive events in the Olympiad increased steadily from 7 in 2007 to 18 in 2011, welcoming more institutions and students with diverse backgrounds to take part. . . Adding to the popularity of the Olympiad, a variety of workshops are also organized each year to enhance the learning of the participants via well known pioneers in each respective field, while also serving as a source of positive amusement. The event is highlighted by the presence of several celebrity figures. Previous Olympiads have seen the likes of HSY, the band Call, Nikki and Nina, Shah Sharahbeel, Ali Zafar, Maria B., Khawar Riaz, Athar Shahzad, Ammar Belal, Nadeem Chowhan, Marius Holden, Salima Hashmi, Shaan, Sobia Nazir, Bilal Lashari, Junaid Ahmed, the band E.P., former PCB chairman Shehryar Khan, and Dr. Ali Khan.
