Next date April 21-22, 2017. Gardendale Magnolia Festival is presented each year at Gardendale Civic Center. 2017 will be the 16th Annual. Proceeds benefit college scholarships for local high school seniors. Two regional/local charities are chosen each year to promote and benefit. We were named in the Top 10 events in April in the 2010 and in May 2012 Alabama Tourism's Calendar of Events, Top 20 Events-Southeast Tourism Society 2015, Birmingham Parent magazine's Family Favorite Festival 2014. We have approximately 30,000+ visitors. We work with many civic organizations, schools, and churches including the chamber of commerce, Rotary club, and Historical Society.. We call the festival The Total Family Experience because it provides activities and entertainment for all ages. Children can enjoy the carnival experience, ride ponies, and take free art classes while mom can get her shopping fix with 150+ arts and crafts/business booths. Dad can enjoy the Classic Car Show and grandparents will tap their foot to the beat of blue grass bands as well as other genres on three stages of live entertainment. The whole family will enjoy the Pooch Parade, eating contests, and satisfy their appetites with fried Oreos, funnel cake, shrimp poboys, Philly cheese steaks, kettlecorn, Cajun pistolettes, or sip on a tall glass of fresh squeezed lemonade.
