Its been tough, taken a long 16 yrs I've been fit most of my life, did well in athletics at school top 3 fastest in the region for 100 & 200 mtrs, worked at local gyms as an aerobics instructor for 8yrs, part of the fitlink aerobics team and opened the national Aerobics Championships with the Reebok team at Dreamworld.Then in 2000 something happened........... My body changed, constant issues with my immunity and hormone systems my core temp went up. Suddenly I had anxiety issues had no idea what that was until I read up about it. I had started a new relationship then too which probably didn't help with a man, his 2 children, both with behavioural issues, he had custody so instant family, as well as buying my first business.. I had pneumonia a few times during those years, struggled getting out of bed I felt rotten but pushed on every day anyway as all the Drs I saw over those years couldn't find anything. I remember feeling my stomach was a bit dodgy I had 2 endoscopies nothing was found. Every time I'd exert myself I'd fall apart.. By then my relationship was challenged which challenged my health more. Christmas is not a good time for anything especially a break up and not only with a man but with my instant family. It shattered me created an emotional breakdown and I lost weight quickly 15 kls to be exact, I found after eating sometimes the food I had eaten would just come up.. You have to get back up and on with it I reinvented the business with a rebrand, reconnected with an old flame which turned out to be my soulmate and started to reglue myself.. What I've learnt over the years is that things/information/people always have a way of coming to you... I read a story from a local athelete in a Sunshine Coast magazine we had simular symptoms she was like another me, I managed to get in to see her Dr there was hope. He treated me for what he called leaky gut and adrenal fatigue. There was improvement I could do exercise again so back at the gym hoping to do a body comp. Found this time weight did not shift, all that weight I lost popped back on slowly so looked at a natropath too. There was slight improvement and then my Dr left moved interstate heartbreaking.. The Dr taking his place pretty much took me off the protocol I was on and wrote on his notes depressed as I cried telling him story again apparently crying warrants as you being depressed !! I felt unsupported and angry as I knew I wasn't depressed I was unwell. I gave up.. A year passed I did hear rumours he was the Dr I needed so went back wish now I didn't.. A year had passed before I went back as I had the flu which makes me nervous as this felt like another pneumonia episode. He wanted me on antibiotics, I hadn't been on antibiotics for over 10 yrs, my previous dr had just done what I thought was a gut repair I didn't want to undo the work we had done so declined as I knew my digestive system wouldn't cope, he recommended prednisone a cortisol drug with that I asked for some immune support. I have no idea on drugs although I do now.....It was the worst thing 10 x worse than an antibiotic OMG!!!!! it was like rat poison for me.
