Detailed description is Die „Ev.-luth.Martin-Luther-Kirchengemeinde Bagband in Großefehn“ zählt zu den kleinsten Gemeinden im Kirchenkreis Aurich. Rund 700 Personen aus den Dörfern Bagband, Spetzerfehn und Neuemoor (Landkreis Leer) gehören dazu. Und das ganz ohne Hammerschläge. Seit dem 31. Oktober 2010 trägt die Evangelisch-lutherische Kirchengemeinde Bagband den Zusatz „Martin Luther“ im Namen. Die damit verbundene Widmung des Gotteshauses auf den Thesenschreiber und Wiederentdecker der Glaubensgerechtigkeit war Abschluss und letzter Höhepunkt im Jubiläumsjahr zur 450jährigen Reformationsgeschichte der Gemeinde. Der historische Fixpunkt dafür findet sich auf deren alter Pastorentafel. Die erzählt von Ulricus, dem ersten lutherischen Pfarrer in Bagband, und nennt sein Sterbedatum: den 28. Januar 1560.. . Die „Ev.-luth.Martin-Luther-Kirchengemeinde Bagband in Großefehn“ zählt zu den kleinsten Gemeinden im Evangelisch-lutherischen Kirchenkreis Aurich. Darunter sind zwei Konfirmandengruppen, der Jugendtreff „Luthers Eleven“, ein Senioren- und ein Frauenkreis, ein Posaunen- und ein Kirchenchor sowie der Sing- und Aktionskreis Offerandum.. . Herzstück der Kirchengemeinde Bagband ist die romanische Backsteinkirche aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Zu den besonderen Kunstobjekten im Gotteshaus zählen die Kreuzigungsgruppe aus dem 15. Jahrhundert mit lebensgroßen Figuren, die Doppelmadonna im Strahlenkranz (ebenfalls 15. Jahrhundert) sowie die Eckmann-Orgel von 1775.. . Außerdem gehört zur Kirchengemeinde Bagband die Kapelle Spetzerfehn. Die ehemalige Dorfschule der Fehnkolonisten, dem ältesten erhaltenen Gebäude des Ortes, haben Gemeindeglieder nach 1962 zu einer Kapelle ausgebaut..
