In a split second my life changed..
Just one collision on the gridiron field gone wrong and my football career was over..
I had come back from many injuries that would have seen others leave the sport, but this one was different..
The paralysis of my left leg and knee injury really took its toll on me..
The early days after the injury were slow and painful.
There was alot of mental anguish and I began to fall into depression..
Sport...It was my life, being strong, being competitive and having something to strive for was what I had based my life around for the last 15 years..
As I lay in hospital, I was advised that I will never walk normal again..

I googled the Australian Paralympic Team and contacted Tim Matthews, the High Performance Manager and arranged a catch up to discuss my options..
A month after leaving hospital I met up with Tim in Essendon and decided the the throws events in athletics are where I would focus my new sporting goals..
