These classes are for those students who aspire to compete at Club, State and even National level. The focus will be purely on patterns and perfecting stances and techniques fordemonstration. All you will need is your normal uniform, (open to all belts and all age groups). . Bongsul. Although a separate martial art, Bongsul also incorporates many Taekwondo techniques, particularly kicking. But most importantly Bongsul requires a long staff — usually 6ft for adults, but obviously shorter for Juniors, which will not break easily. A stick from Bunnings will not suffice and a splinted staff can be very dangerous! W e recommend a bamboo staff to begin with. Please contact Barry if you need to purchase a proper staff before the first class. (Bongsul is open to anyone over 12 years old, even if you've never done a martial art). . Arnis. Once again a key requirement for this class will be the bamboo Arnis sticks. Please contact Barry before the first class if you need to purchase sucks. Arnis involves some more technical concepts and leads into a short-sword fighting style so a degree of maturity and responsibility is required. The principal instructor has only worked with University age students before, but knowing the calibre of those already training with us we are confident to open this class up to students horn 12 years old through to adults. No other martial arts experience is necessary.. . Kyusho Jitsu. Kyusho Jitsu is a detailed study of the Eastern theories of Chinese Meridians and pressure points and how they relate to all martial arts. It is a very technical subject which requires at east a fundamental background knowledge of the martial arts as a starting point. It also leads to a deeper understanding of how techniques can be refined for optimum effectiveness to disable an attacker. For this reason classes will be restricted to students 16 years and over who hold a minimum grading of Red Belt or equivalent.
