Southern Fire Community Church initially began from a group of people who had been attending the Mt Gambier Assemblies of God Church and were travelling from the lower South East towns of Beachport and Millicent to attend the church..
They eventually met with the senior Pastor to talk about the possibility of holding afternoon meetings in Millicent with the Mt Gambier Assembly providing ministry for this new group whilst still being under the covering of the Mount Gambier Assembly.
In 1982 the first official meeting was held in the supper room of the Millicent Civic and Arts Centre and it was here that the Millicent Assemblies of God Church was born..
