Lastly, Moody had its first individual state champion in Varsity Wrestling; Brett Staggs in February 2015. Moody now has a total of four individual state champions, including Shaquawn Vandergrift (Indoor Track, 60 meter dash), Michael Land (2x Wrestling State Champion). The varsity wrestling team finished in 2nd place in the 1A-5A classification in the first ever AHSAA State Dual Tournament in 2017.
