Enquanto tudo isso acontecia, onze jovens, que viviam na região do Bairro da Serra, buscavam formas de lazer para reunir os amigos.Em um lote, de forma improvisada, nascia o Olympico Club. Fundado em 4 de fevereiro de 1940, foi o segundo clube esportivo e social a se instalar em Belo Horizonte, originado de um sonho em comum dos chamados “onze meninos”, como são conhecidos seus fundadores. Como não possuíam maioridade jurídica na época, tiveram que contar com o apoio de pessoas adultas para construir a primeira quadra na casa da família Magalhães Pinto.. Com o passar do tempo, os jovens viram a necessidade de comprar um terreno, onde pudessem construir uma sede e mais dependências para o clube. Foi então que eles adquiriram um lote na Rua Professor Estevão Pinto, hoje, uma área nobre da capital mineira, e deram início à construção da atual sede, que ao longo dos anos foi ampliada e modernizada até se tornar um dos clubes mais tradicionais da cidade..
