In March 2012 a kayaker from the Western Cape circumnavigated the peninsula to raise awareness to and highlight the work done by City Mission in our community.. . It was our aim, as a team to spread a message of hope. Demonstrating that with tenacity and perserverance and the grace of God we can overcome adversity.. . The mission brought about people from all walks of life, various backgrounds and enthusiasts not only of sport but also celebrating the gift of life and love. . It was a weekend that built character, tested faith and encouraged unity.. . The result: The birth of an extended concept. An annual event.. . In partnership City Mission and Paddle with a Purpose will invite paddling enthusiasts from all around to participate in an annual race where they can paddle to raise awareness to their cause, celebrate their purpose and also spread a positive message in our community.. . Sport has the power to unite, to uplift and to transform.. . Together we can! Use what's in your hand!!. . .
