São 842 grupos no Brasil e PET Farmácia possui 22 anos de história!. O Programa de Educação Tutorial é um programa nacional do governo formado por grupos de estudantes, tutorados por um docente, que desenvolvem atividades de aprimoramento dos cursos de graduação e desenvolvimento do petiano participante, visando o princípio da indissociabilidade entre a tríade de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão. Existem 842 grupos PET, em 121 IES no Brasil todo - sendo 47 delas nos campus da UNESP e, desses, oito grupos são da UNESP de Araraquara.. O PET Farmácia foi implantado em novembro/1994 como um projeto elaborado pela Profa. Dra. Regina Maria Barretto Cicarelli e iniciou suas atividades com quatro bolsistas sob a tutoria do Prof. Dr. Sandro Roberto Valentini, em 1995. No segundo semestre/1996 já contava com 12 bolsistas. A partir de setembro/1996 o Prof. Dr. João Aristeu da Rosa passou a ser tutor do grupo. Possui 22 anos de história e, em 2013, passou a aceitar não só alunos de Farmácia-Bioquímica, mas também alunos do novo curso de Engenharia de Bioprocessos e Biotecnologia, instaurado na Faculdade de Ciências Farmacêuticas (FCF) de Araraquara..
