Detailed description is "Je ne m'intéresse pas à la façon dont les gens bougent, mais à ce qui les meut" Pina Bausch.Née en 1940 à Solingen, cette fille de restaurateur a montré très tôt un talent d'exception ; elle est repérée par Kurt Joos qui sera pour elle une source d'inspiration. Elle débute ses études de danse à l’âge de 15 ans à la Folwang School à Essen sous la direction de Kurt Joss. Diplômée en 1958, elle obtient une bourse d’étude et intègre la Julliard School of Music de New York. Elle danse avec la compagnie Paul Sanasardi et Donya Feuer et devient ensuite danseuse au New American Ballet et au Métropolitan Opéra de New York.. En 1962, Pina Bausch rentre en Allemagne. A partir de 1968 ses propres chorégraphies entrent au répertoire du Folkwang Ballett. Elle devient au bout d’un an directeur artistique de la compagnie.. En 1973 Pina Bausch devient directrice et chorégraphe du nouveau Tanztheater Wuppertal.. . D'abord très décriée, sa désaffection du ballet classique et son esthétique nouvelle, mêlant danse et théâtre, sont bientôt saluées par les critiques du monde entier.Pina Bausch avait fondé le Tanztheater Wuppertal il y a plus de 35 ans - un ensemble qui dansait toujours à guichet fermé, et que la chorégraphe a marqué de son empreinte.. .
