At the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show in March 2014, the Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers (AILDM) will unveil Place Grow Shift, a show garden that demonstrates that a garden can be flexible in size, shape and design.. . Over five days, AILDM will present four inspiring designs using the same modules reconfigured to create new gardens. Plywood boxes used as either furniture or planters, and stackable metal cylinders used to create garden beds or sculptural pieces will be teamed with Australian native plants and recycled timber decking and screens. Place Grow Shift shows that creative designers can find many different and exciting solutions for the same space.. . Place Grow Shift, on display in the Carlton Gardens Show Garden alley from Wednesday, March 26 to Sunday, March 30 2014, will be transformed every day by AILDM members at noon. Right before the eyes of the public, screens will be moved, plywood boxes will convert from planters to furniture, plants repositioned and even cut-out spaces in the decks revealed, an innovation not seen yet at MIFGS. After nine months of planning and sourcing modules, the stage has been set for AILDM designers to create unique designs that reflect the name Place Grow Shift.. . Formed in 1994, AILDM is Australia’s leading association of qualified landscape designers and management professionals, with members in all states.
