.
Independent Presbyterian Church Day Camp offers boys and girls ages 5 to 11 both an outdoor camping experience and a well-planned program.
There will be a limited enrollment of 80 campers per session: a camper to staff ratio of 5 to 1.
This excellent ratio and the quality of the staff make IPC Day Camp a wonderful experience for your child.
The campers will be divided into age groups, and they will have scheduled, supervised activities all day.
Each group will be led by a high school staff person who will be with them for the whole week.
The activities will be directed by college staff who also develop great relationships with the campers as the week progresses.
Some of the activities alreplanned for this summer's program are:.
.
BIBLE - In keeping with the Christian emphasis of camp, there will be a Bible lesson each day.
There are also "round ups" (whole camp meetings) with singing and a short devotional each morning and afternoon.
The morning “round up” helps campers and staff gear up for a day filled with activity, and the afternoon “round up” provides a chance to reflect on the good time had that day before heading home.
The devotional talks focus on the Gospel or “good news” of Jesus Christ..
.
SWIMMING - All campers will have a daily opportunity to swim with their particular group in the Point Pleasant pool.
They will be closely supervised by their leader and a StarGuard or Red Cross certified lifeguard.
The pool is always a favorite spot to visit each day of camp in the hot weather..
.
ARTS & CRAFTS - This fun time is designed to stimulate minds and enhance creativity with activities such as painting, bead work, friendship bracelets, etc.
"Tie dye" tee shirts have proven to be a hit and will be a part of each week's A & C activities.
You may order camp logo tee shirts to tie dye (see registration form) or send your own..
.
SPORTS & GAMES - A time of rigorous activity ranging from traditional team sports to crazy games and contests.
With games tailored for each age group, we'll have everything from "Duck, Duck, Goose" to water polo.
.
.
CANOEING/KAYAKING - The marsh provides a sheltered and wonderful place for this great activity.
It's a time of adven-ture and enjoying the creation around us.
We even see dolphins from time to time.
The sit on top kayaks provide an opportunity for older campers to learn some solo paddling skills..
.
THE CHALLENGE COURSE - This course is made up of both high and low elements designed to build self confidence and promote unity and encouragement among the campers.
It has elements that are designed for both the younger and older campers.
The climbing tower is a favorite for all, and the pamper pole provides a great challenge for the older groups.
