History:-. The idea of a group of psychologists, psychology students and well wishers working for the society by applying psychological knowledge was a dream of me, Allen Mithra, since I joined college for psychology graduation in 2008. Then onward, I had been studying about different psychological associations, their purposes, objectives, activities and intentions. . On November 8th 2011, a psychological group was created in Facebook, namely “PSYCHOLOGY” (https://www.facebook.com/groups/allenmithra/) which became a huge success. At the time of its creation, the aspired number of members after one year was 1,000. I wanted to help a thousand people in some way, within one year. But within a few months, this groups has achieved the target number of members, and became the largest and most active psychological group in facebook very soon. At the time of its first anniversary, there were more than 6,000 members (now around 18,500) which consists of professional psychologists from different fields, psychology students, critics of psychology, research scholars, those who are seeking psychological help and those who are interested in psychology. . The highly motivating response inspired me to create a few other groups for specific areas in psychology which includes “Psychological movies” (https://www.facebook.com/groups/182335491865722/), Ads on Psychology (https://www.facebook.com/groups/331984906906328/) & Psychology in Literature (https://www.facebook.com/groups/491867377515235/); and pages “Inspirational Thoughts” (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Inspirational-Thoughts/289666941065325) and “JUST JOKING!” (https://www.facebook.com/psychicjokes). . After finishing graduation, during the post gradation studies, the psychological association was created informally with the help of a few psychologists, friends, colleagues and well wishers. The first formal meeting was conducted on 08-06-2012, and after considering the financial needs and legal consequences, we decided to register it as a society. But continued thoughts forced me to change the decision when I found the better benefits of registering it as a trust. . On 6th May 2013, (on the birthday of the great psychologist Sigmund Freud) we registered it as a public charitable trust. . . Activities:. For fulfilling the objectives, we started a few projects and more projects are under construction. Some of them include:. 1) A psychological library which consists of paper books and soft-books. 2) A psychological laboratory which provided psychological tests including intelligence tests, personality tests, memory tests etc. . 3) Consultancy services. 4) A psychological blog which provides free notes on different fields of psychology.. 5) An online counseling program . 6) Seminars, workshops, awareness classes, discussions and debates on different topics related to psychology.. 7) Clinical service and counselling for general public. . . .
