Born on 20th June, 1958 into a common agricultural family in Ahmedabad , Shri. Ranchodbhai Desai has lived the life of simple living and high thinking. His personal voyage of leading the constituency with the most glorious cultural heritage manifests the vision and mission of life to which he aspires with all commitment and dedication. . Immediately after a few months of birth, his family migrated to Budhasan village of Kadi taluka for farming purpose where he lost the shelter of his father in a very young age amidst problems and uncertainties he along with his family shifted to Ahmedabad once again. He made Ahmedabad his ‘’ KARMABHOOMI’’ and acquired his schooling from Nutan Fellowship School, Navarangpura and thereafter accomplished his college education till B.A., L.L.B. from Navagujarat college.. . AS A STUDENT LEADER:. As a dynamic and audacious student leader he has led a series of movements for ameliorating the quality of Socio Cultural and Sports activities and realizing transparency in admission procedure at college and university level. He was elected as the General Secretary of Navagujarat College from 1982to 1983 and from 1983 to 1984 and was also the Senate member in Faculty of Law during 1984-85.. . SAGA OF SUCCESS IN ACTIVE POLITICS:. He remained the centre of attraction of many political parties on account of his inherent strong leadership which made him lead many student movements during college years. But as he was destined,being inspired by the personality and leadership of reverent former Prime Minister of India Shri. Atalbihari Vajpayee, he joined Bhartiya Janta Party in 1986-87. And, he assumed the post of the secretary of Ahmedabad City BJP Youth and thereafter he rendered the responsibility as the secretary of Gujarat Region BJP youth. Brimful of spirit of nationalism he accompanied Honorable Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi and revered Chief Minister Shri. Anandiben Patel in Indian Flag hoisting program held by National BJP at Lal Chawk in Kashmir and hoisted the national trio color. He was the first from Gujarat to embrace political arrest of sixty days in Babri Mosque Demolition movement which persuaded the people of Gujarat to set on the campaign of liberating Ram devotee Ranchod Rabari against the Government. In 1992 he formulated the Normandy Tribe Cell ( MALDHARI) in Gujarat BJP and rigorously acted for the mobilization of Normandy community as its first convener till 1995. For the first time he offered his candidature in Vagdod State Assembly Elections in 1995. He was the appointed chairman of Gujarat Gopalak Board during 1996-98 and in 1998 he once again contested the state assembly elections of Vagdod constituency and won the elections with flying colors. As an incumbent MLA of VAGDOD state assembly constituency, he undertook a number of developmental projects in the region. He shouldered the responsibility of state level minister of State Panchayat Department (Independent charge) of Government of Gujarat led by Honorable Narendrabhai Modi during 2000-2002. He worked as the Minister in Gujarat BJP led government for eight years between 2002-2010 and successfully carried out the responsibility of strengthening the alliance throughout Saurastra region. He has been the consistent executive member of Gujarat Region BJP since 1987. Scaling the further heights of success, he contested the elections of Patan legislative assembly in the year 2012 and got through it successfully. Since then he has been the MLA of Patan and honored as the active people friendly representative. On November 2014 he was assigned the very important portfolio of parliamentary secretary (Panchayat) of Govt. of Gujarat by the Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt. Anandiben Patel..
