Photography is something that I do in my free time. Its something that I love. When I have a camera in my hand its like everything is right in the world. My dad thinks I get it from my grandpa who was a photographer during WWII and who had his work published in Life Magazine. All I know is that with photography I feel complete. I love nature and the way the lights and shadows blend together and capture its inner beauty. When I was growing up, photography did not seem like a real calling to me. Art was not a part of my life, at least not like this. I grew up in a musically inclined family, so thats what I did. However, I always enjoyed having a camera in my hand; freeze framing love, life, and the world around me. As I got older, I realized how much I actually loved photography, and I started thinking about it as a career. On my 18th birthday, my dad got me my first real camera. That year I went on a high school band trip to Chicago and took my camera with me. All those tall and crazy shaped buildings along with the Navy Pier, Lake Michigan and even the Shedd Aquarium caught my eye. I took pictures of anything and everything. At that moment I realized exactly how much I could do with a camera. I love to bring objects to life. Soon after graduating high school, my dad told me about . When I started this adventure of becoming an artist, my photos focused on nature because of the beauty of it. After working on this for a while I ventured farther and started taking photos of people. My best friend, Christa, was the perfect person for the job. After having a few photo shoots with her, and with a few of my other friends, I realized that nature was where my heart belonged. Not because people were too much of a challenge, but from my experience, I realized that I truly enjoy taking photos of nature more. People already have a personality and when having a photo shoot you find places, angles, and poses that match their personality. This is a challenge that I enjoy, but because they already have a personality, its not the kind of challenge that interests me. When it comes to nature not only do you get to find the places and angles, but you also get to give the scenery its own personality. Make it come alive. And that is what I love.. My family has been a huge part of my photography. Without them and their support from the very beginning none of this would be possible. That is why my motto is "Family Comes First". I know I said that my passion is nature but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy people as well. Many say I'm a people person. So if anyone wants a photo shoot.
