He was the founder Headmaster of the well-known SVH higher secondary residential school, Mangalore from 1943 – 1956. After his retirement also he continued to be active in the field of education and social service.. . A. Shama Rao was a committed teacher and a great educationist. He firmly believed that only the right kind of education could lead to the overall development of an individual. In his memory, his son, Mr. A. Raghavendra Rao a famous Chartered Account and Industrialist of Mangalore established A. Shama Rao Foundation to serve as an intellectual nerve center for science, technology and management with the ability to leverage industrial vibrancy to its advantage. The President is assisted by his illustrious son, Mr Srinivas Rao, VIce-President of the Foundation.. . A.
