Detailed description is St. George High School was a dream come true for people in and around Aruvithura.It was in 1963, a stadium at Aruvithura with a 400 meter track facility St. George High School was a dream come true for people in and around Aruvithura. It was by the continuous effort of Fr. Thomas Arayathinal the then Poonjar M. L. A and Chief Minister Shri. A. J. John sanctioned a high school under St. George church Aruvithura in 1952. In the beginning two classes were conducted namely the First form and the Fourth form. School founder Rev. Fr. Thomas Arayathinal was the first manager and Shri. K. M. Chandi Kavalammakkal was the first headmaster of the school. It was in 1954, all the classes were begun and and Fr. Abraham Moongamakkal was appointed as the headmaster.. . It was in 1963, the then Kerala governer Shri. V. V. Giri inaugurated a stadium at Aruvithura with a 400 meter track facility. It is at the site donated by Shri. K. V. Thomas pottamkulam situates the first stadium in Kottayam district which is still playing a major role in the sports history of the school.. . Higher Secondary course sanctioned in the year 2000 is a milestone in the history of the school which has an unignorable academic history of over five decades. Two science batches and a commerce batch with computer option is available at H. S. S. level.. . About 1100 students are studying in the institution in U. P., H. S. and H. S. S sections. There are about 60 staff in the teaching and non teaching category.
