A long history runs through the Star Bar building, originally constructed from convict brick in the 1800s, the Heritage listed facade has welcomed many a weary traveler. The Star bar was relaunched in 1991 after extensive renovations. Sir Joh Bjelke Peterson opened the night by cooking the very first pizza in the imported Italian wood fire pizza oven.. . Through a number of owners the ‘Star Bar’ has been a main stay in Launceston, running for over 21 years; with current owner Mr Michael Acquarola purchasing the Star Bar in February 2007.. . Our Business Ethos is that of Excellence in customer service. We provide this through the provision of top quality produce prepared to a high standard by our experienced Head Chef James Daw and his staff. As well as up to date staff training and ensuring that all staff maintain current RSA’s.. . OUR RESTAURANT. . We offer a wonderful modern Australian cuisine at the Star Bar Cafe. Pop in for a freshly ground Genovese coffee from 10am, or head in for an early lunch from 11:30am. Our Menu’s are changed seasonally to utilise the best of what Tasmania has to offer in fresh produce. Gluten Free pizzas and meals are also available.. .
