Super Skills football Academy, provides coaching to players on the fundamental core skills of a footballer: short passing, dribbling the ball, shooting, controlling the ball and long passing. Super Skills Football Academy has designed a 12 - week specific training program, to improve each individual player’s ability to improve and execute these skills. . Super Skills Football Academy players are split in to two specific age groups ages 4 – 8 and ages 9 – 16. . . Players aged 9 – 16. . Players in the age group 9 – 16 are tested in the Super Skills Competition against their fellow academy players. The players are tested on the skills that are coached throughout the Academy. At the end of the Super Skills Competition a league league table will show, the points each player has achieved at the end of the testing. The two players who achieve the highest overall scores from all the skills tests, will be announced as the groups winner and runner up. These two players will be invited back, to take part in the “Super Skills Grand Final”, early in the new year, where they will take part in the skills tests again, against the best of the best from throughout the year in their respective age groups. . . As well as the Super Skills Academy competition, players in the older age groups, 12 – 16 will also receive tactical coaching, focusing on the bigger picture during a football game. This tactical development training will help players grow in confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the game, as well as also improve a players confidence and ability to make and execute a decision in any given situation, in a constantly changing game. . . Between the ages 4 – 8 : The Young Ones. Our players in these age groups, do not take part in the Super Skills Competition. This is the discovery age, where players discover what the objectives of football are and they learn this in a fun environment with the focus on enjoyment and learning. The skills are learnt by repetitive coaching, ensuring the players learn to understand balance and body movement remembering how they perform the skill and trying to improve their ability to perform the skill better every time it is done. At this age it is a natural thing for a child to do, repeat new movements to gain new skills. . There are no winners and losers, all Super Skills players in these age groups are winners.. The coaching at this age is designed to activate the mind and discover what is possible and encourage the players to play with free expression, without restrictions as they discover the magic of football. The games they play are small with 2 v 2 and 3 v 3 ensuring all players get plenty of touches on the ball. The score line doesn’t matter in these games.. . On the Super Skills Grand Final Day, the best of the best in each age group are invited back to take the skills tests again, so that one player from each age group can be crowned, the Super Skills Campion.
