Detailed description is Hailing from Dombivli, a suburb from Mumbai, The 8th Note (T8N) is an alternative Hindi Rock Band. Formed by four like minded musicians back in Summer of 2004..2 IT professionals, an Analyst and an Engineer. What common thing do you find? Just put them all together in a proximity of guitars and amplifiers; let it be a jam room or on stage in front of loud, music yearning aficionados… and in an instant you will see the chemistry that lies amongst them.. . Back in 2004, when all these above professional tags didn’t exist, Ashu, Mangesh, Gaurav and Sachin, had a common teenage-boy dream, to worship their guitar gods and one day rock the stage just like they did. Destiny put them together in a same pot, at a guitar class, where they met each other and quickly realized they shared the same dream. . Now came the next step, extensive jamming while mastering their skills on guitar, Gaurav became the voice, his then unexplored talent of vocal abilities surged up-front while the band jammed on their favorite numbers from alike of Strings, Junoon, Silk Route and so on… Sachin always had fastest fingers on fret board, no wonder he worshiped Satriani, Petrucci, Vai and Salman Ahmad. T8N didn’t have to look any further for a lead guitarist. Another exceptional hidden talent to come out was Ashu’s singing, writing and composing abilities, the main contributor to bands nearly all of the original compositions lyrically as well as melodically. Mangesh, the youngest of them all, served the tightest rhythm guitars and backing vocal sections.. . T8N only grew stronger, wiser and musical in following years. With 8 originals recorded and another half-a-dozen compositions ready, band also released a couple of videos. Appreciated not just by the fans but also by their inspirations, Strings, Pakistan’s head-honchos of pop-rock culture. T8N made a name for themselves playing memorable concerts at numerous colleges and open air venues, accompanied by their good friends taking up bass and drum duties. Media often took notice of these lads as they made some socially relevant music videos; showing the mature side to their music.. Professional commitments made Sachin leave India for over a couple of years. However, T8N carried on making music. In March 2012, T8N, after a small hiatus from live venues, played a comeback concert at an engineering college, with their friend Ninad, a bass player who appears on number of T8N’s studio tracks, Swapnil a guitar-virtuoso and Rohit a budding drummer (who now replaces Mangesh as the youngest lad in the band). This extended line-up also released a tribute video for Strings, appreciated by thousands of Strings and T8N fans worldwide. A nice surprise came in form of a pat-on-the-back from Strings themselves as the duo appreciated their efforts and encouraged them on social networks.. . Divided by professions, musical influences, united by junoon, a passion; T8N lives on as long as there is music.. T8N is not only known for their hard hitting cover versions of Rock music from Asian subcontinental musical genres such as Sufi rock, Bollywood rock to name a couple, but also for their original compositions, often acclaimed as a union of talented musicianship with sensitive and honest poetry.
