I'm also the owner and founder of Motorphilia (www.motorphilia.com) and I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 22. . . As I learned more about this disorder more and more started to make sense in my struggles to be "normal" and experienced, first hand, how hard it is to grow up in a family that refused to understand how the ADHD child's mind works. . . I've had to overcome a lot and I wanted to make this page for those of you who are dealing with ADD/ADHD in your personal lives, or involved with a partner who has an attention disorder, or a child. . . I'm also an expecting father, and one reason why I have committed to understanding this disorder that I am struggling with is so that I can give my child what my parents did not understand . . . a place where he or she can feel accepted, loved, and tools to help overcome the problems that ADD / ADHD can bring into our day to day lives . . . and also let them know that this disorder is really a "super power" . . . and it is. . . Some of the greatest people who are in this world's history had ADHD or ADD and it's not a limiting factor in our lives, just one that needs to be understood so that we all can get along better in this world around us. . . We are not victims here. We have something special, we just need to learn how to properly use it. . . And this page is here for us to share our experiences and talk about techniques and treatments we use to manage this disorder and how to work with our partners in life to help build meaningful, loving, and trust-filled relationships. .
