Detailed description is The journey to the integration of the EAC is started on July 2000. There are various things that need to e achieved for the integration to be achieved - making it a journey. The East Africa Community (EAC) is a regional inter-governmental organization of the Republics of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. The Community was first established in 1967 by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, but collapsed ten years later due to political differences. The Treaty providing for its re-establishment came into effect on July 7, 2000 following ratification by the three initial partner states. The Republics of Rwanda and Burundi joined EAC in 2007. . . The Community aims at widening and deepening cooperation among partner states in among other areas, political, social, economic cultural, heath, education, science and technology, defence, security, and legal and judicial affairs for their mutual benefit.
