Three Rivers lodge a branch of Native Directions, {N.D.I} is a 90 Day residential treatment facility serving Native Americans of California and beyond. For the past 35 years Three Rivers has been combining a conventional approach to rehabilitation with Native American tradition. Over the years this culturally specific approach has been a very successful.. . Designated as the urban Indian a rehabilitation program, Three Rivers Indian lodge has served individual members of variety of different tribes. For the past five years we've had a waiting list of more than 30 clients at any given time. On average this means a delay of up to six months before client is admitted to treatment. The waiting lists and are high success rate, highlights the need for a new expanded facility with increase capacity. We have learned through our experience that are culturally sensitive approach is a key to our success.. . Founded in 1972 in San Joaquin county, Three Rivers Indian lodge sought a balanced approach to rehabilitation. By combining conventional treatment such as the 12 step program with traditional Native American cultural values and practices, such as the sweat lodge ceremonies. Over the years of this culturally specific approach, it has proven to be a remarkably successful. In fact from September 1996 to September 1999 rivers Indian lodge recorded a constant 70% completion rate of its 90 day program. Three Rivers program has established itself as a successful alternative to other contemporary treatment methods. This has not been done alone but through association with local court systems and communities and tribal nations throughout the United States, Canada.. . For over 35 years we have successfully provide a one-of-a-kind culturally specific substance abuse treatment to the people of California. For the past seven years Three Rivers has been accredited by the commission on accreditation of rehabilitation facilities {C.A.R.F} an international accreditation organization.
