Under the Mission, Centres of Relevance and Excellence (COREs) have been set up in academic institutions to enrich the knowledge of professionals in emerging areas of science and technology.. . In September 2005, TIFAC identified the Centre for Cyber Security at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore as a CORE. This TIFAC CORE at Amrita is a collaborative alliance of academic and industrial partners.
