Detailed description is The Trinidad and Tobago Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (TTEITI) is a coalition of government, industry and civil society on issues of transparency and accountability in Trinidad and Tobago's Extractive Industries (oil, gas and mining).. In 2010, September 9, the Cabinet of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago reaffirmed the country's commitment to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). On December 8, 2010, the Government announced its decision to re-apply for membership of the EITI. A 19 member tripartite Steering Committee (TTEITI Steering Committee) comprised of a chairman with a Civil Society background, government representatives (6), privately-owned company representatives and civil society representatives (4) implements the EITI, in accordance with a Cabinet mandate.
