MBA degree is in dim light recently due to the proliferation of institutions and coaching centres offering MBAs of different streams, shades, and affiliations all over the country. However, functionally and professionally trained, groomed, and skill-equipped MBAs from reputed national level institutions like IIMs are all the more in demand. The demand for quality MBAs can only grow in a developing country like India. The 93 year old Union Christian College, an Arts and Science college of Pre-Independence era, entered into the field of management education with a well set quality bench mark of humanism, professionalism and excellence, all combined. MBA @ UCC has set the goal to equip young men and women for employment generation rather than for job searching.. . . . Historic Visits. ***************. . . Ever since its inception, the College enjoyed recognition and admiration from men of eminence at the national and international levels, as evidenced by the visits of Tagore in 1922 and Mahatma Gandhi in 1925.The Mahatma addressed the teachers and students of the College on March 25, 1925 and wrote in the visitors’ diary of the College that he was delighted with the ideal situation. The mango sapling planted by Gandhiji still graces the campus and remains a hallowed historic spot.. . . . Mahatma Gandhi wrote:. . “Delighted with the ideal situation”. .
