Watchmen was started by Ivan Sención in April 2003, as a way to form a band matching his musical preferences and influences. . With that in mind, Ivan first contacted the guitarists Rodrigo Gudiña and Emmanuel López , and it wasn´t long till the drummer Eduardo Giardina and the bassist Germain Leth joined the new project. . Along with keyboard player Guillermo D'Medio, as guest musician, the band recorded their first demo at the "Doble B" studio containing two songs “On the Road” and “Living The Heartache”, it was released in May 2003. Since then, the band has been spreading all over the world. Watchmen's songs have already been broadcasted in several European and American radio stations, such as Hardrocking 80s, an on-line Chicago´s radio station, where the band climbed to number one on the chart and stayed on top for 2 weeks. Late October 2003, Charlie Giardina ( bassist and singer of Hardway and steady bassist of former Mr. Big Singer Eric Martin) joined in as a guest keyboard player while Rodrigo Gudiña decided to leave Watchmen to dedicate full-time to his own band, Ariadna Project. With this line up: Ivan Sención (Voice), Germain Leth (Bass), Emmanuel López (Guitar), Eduardo Giardina (drums) and guest musician Charlie Giardina (keyboards) the band started to compose some of the songs that would later appear on their first album. . Watchmen's first live performance took place at Acatraz (B.A.) on May 14, 2004 and it turned out to be a total sold out.. In July 2004, the band entered the recording studio to start their first album sessions, with Leandro Bordicelli as sound engineer. . In October 2004 Eduardo Giardina left the band, being replaced by Sergio "Dukke" Del Duca (former drummer of Kefren and Kerosene). . As a consequence of Watchmen´s performance in the "3° Cavern Rock Festival" contest, the band was invited by Mr. Dave Jones (owner of the The Cavern Club -Liverpool) and John Lennon´s sister Julia Baird to give a series of gigs in England. Leonardo Palmieri (who was playing in Rata Blanca´s singer Adrián Barilari soloist band ) became a steady member during this contest. . In April 2005 the band´s first album was finally fully recorded at the Doble B Studios. Right after this, Watchmen flied to England to give 6 unforgettable shows in the legendary Cavern Club where the Beatles were born; ending up the tour in another legendary place, The Ruskin Arms (London) cradle of Iron Maiden. . On June 15, 2005, Watchmen played as support band of former Poison & Mr. Big guitar player Richie Kotzen, during his "Get up again Tour 2005" at the N//D Ateneo theatre, in B.A. . On November 25, 2005, the band was once more invited to support a great international musician, this time sharing the gig with Jeff Scott Soto, on his "Lost in the translation - Latin America Tour" at the N//D Ateneo theatre in B.A. . In December 2005, the band shot its first video clip, being the chosen song "Time is over" (released in Watchmen´s first album). Under “The Refugio Films” production. . The debut album named “Watchmen” was released in Argentina in June 2006 under the Argentine´s record label “Blackstar”. The first edition was soon sold out, which lead to more than one re-editions. . In March 2007 Sergio “Dukke” del Duca left the band due to professional differences. Former drummer Eduardo Giardina took over for a short period of time. . In May 2007, young drummer Alan Fritzler joined Watchmen to finally wrap up nowadays line up.. On August the 10, the band performed in San Pablo, Brazil, as guests of the American singer Ted Poley (Danger Danger) at the paulist venue “Manifesto Bar”, adding an extra show along with Brazilian bands the following day in front of a crowded and euphoric audience. The band obtained excellent critics from the public and the specialized press (Rock Brigade Magazine, Roadie Crew Magazine, Whiplash Webzine among others).. Due to the success harvested in Brazil, the band was invited once more to San Pablo in December, this time to support Gilby Clarke (ex- Guns N' Roses) in two shows , and was required to perform in an extra show next to Brazilian bands to a full house gig.. In March 2008 Watchmen began the pre-production of their second album at “In Rock” and “Double B” studios, followed by a series of presentations in the Province of Buenos Aires. . In May 2008 the band performed in the city of Santiago of Chile for the first time, along with the local artist Nasson, receiving excellent commentaries from both the public and the Chilean press (Rock Magazine Axis among others). . On June 6, Watchmen were invited to support singer Eric Martin (ex Mr. Big) at the “La Trastienda” bar, leaving an excellent impression on the audience and on Martin himself, who had nothing but words of praise for the band.. On August 15, after a long series of gigs and a year away from the capital`s stages, the band was back in BA playing at “ La Colorada” with the Chilean singer Nasson as guest artist, performing twice that very night, both to a full house. . On September 6, Watchmen gave a gig for the first time in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay, with an excellent repercussion and attendance.. On October 15, Watchmen played at the “Festival Pepsi Music 2008” during the first Stone Temple Pilots visit to Argentina. In the month of November Germain Leth left Watchmen for personal reasons. In 2009, with its original bassist out of the project, Watchmen made a long series of presentations in the Province of Buenos Aires and in different provinces with a temporary lineup consisting of Ivan Sencion, Emmanuel Lopez, Leonardo Palmieri, Alan Fritzler (playing the bass guitar temporarily) and Eduardo Giardina (as guest drummer). . In March 2009 the band began the recording sessions for "Nowhere To Hide". Alan Fritzler (in addition to his work as drummer of the band) was also responsible for recording the bass on the album, while the search to find Leth's replacement had started. In September, after many months of intensive auditions and an extensive search, Sebastian Igino finally becomes the new Watchmen bassist . With no time to lose the band starts rehearsing to present the new lineup live. On October 27 Watchmen´s debut album was released to the UK and throughout the European Community by Z Records label from UK Liverpool. The band has received great reviews and comments by the specialized media in Europe (The May Fair Mall Zine, Rockrealms, Radio Phoenix, 7 Waves 92.1 FM, AOR Heaven, Strutter, among others)..
