Woo Woo Workshop and Woo Woo Tags™ are a division/product line of Art Savvy Studio. Woo Woo Workshop is a simple story inside of a complex one.. . It all started with the curious advertisement in our little city by the lake's newspaper. Listed in tiny black letters - Doxer, female - puppy. What in the heck is a Doxer? So, we went with curious in tow, to see what a Doxer was all about. She was all about the epitome of adorable; half Boxer half Dachshund! She became the newest member of our family and one that would forever be a part of who we've become as creatives, spouses and beings.. . At the time of Lilly's arrival, Fred was working at a local machine shop doing what he had done for the past 15 years, CNC programming and metal working. The economy had taken a toll on our cities industrial community and Fred lost his job.. . In the midst of all the change and upheaval I was busy diligently working on my first Etsy shop - and Woo Woo Workshops parent company - Art Savvy Studio.. . Fred came to me and said "I want to work with animals." I was elated! He has such a nurturing and very natural way with animals and it was the perfect time to change up and move forward with something new! He enrolled in one of our local Technical Colleges and after 10 months, graduated in May of 2012 with a Veterinary Assistant degree.. . We then cultivated the business concept of Woo Woo Workshop. What to name the division/product line of Art Savvy Studio? Well, ever since Lilly was a puppy she sings the Woo Woo Song - which Boxers are known for. We taught her to do it on command because it's so ridiculously sweet. So, Woo Woo Workshop it became. In honor of Lilly and her happy Woo Woo Song!. . Fred saw first hand, on many occasions the amount of animals that pass through shelter doors because of a lack of proper identification. We wanted to offer high quality, unique, handmade pet id tags that pets would love to wear and their humans would feel comfortable with the efficiency of the tag.. . However, being a part of the Etsy community for quite some time and knowing the talent that abounds, we had to set ourselves apart from the rest. How to do that? A wire wrapped pet tag with a replaceable contact backer. Aha!. . Our pet tags are unique in that they are a multiple metal design with an aluminum, lightweight, replaceable, tarnish and rust free contact backer. Every single tag we create is wire wrapped. This particular vision for the tags allows us to create a unique, multifaceted and one of a kind pet id tag.. . They are all 100% handmade. The only mechanical tool that we use to aid in production is a belt sander. All pieces are hand cut from high quality, medium to heavy gauge sheet metal. They are then designed, soldered in some cases, hand stamped, hand polished and hand wrapped with close attention to detail, durability and strength.. . All branding was designed by me and all printing is done in house. Every order is personally packaged by me and lovingly sent to the recipient.. . We opened the shop on April 26, 2012 and the reception that we've received has been humbling.. . We take Handmade very seriously and the process, hard work and dedication shines through our work.. . Who would have thought that the little boy and little girl who sat in their 5th grade class together would some day get married, start a workshop together and live what they love, inspired by the most beautiful pup on the planet!. . ************************************************************. .
