Detailed description is 會津若松城，為一座位於日本福島縣會津若松市追手町內的城郭。會津若松城亦名「鶴城」（鶴ヶ城），歷史文獻中亦名為「黑川城」及「會津城」。在日本，一般稱之為「會津若松城」，而國家指定的古跡名稱為「若松城」。歷史天正18年以前原來在會津地區有個規模不大的「東黑川館」，由於會津是 蘆名氏的領地，蘆名氏發展到至徳元年（1384年）的時候、第七代大名蘆名直盛將它擴大維修，興建一座新的黑川城（くろかわじょう）。天正十七年（1589年），由於蘆名氏長期以來與伊達氏屢有衝突，為了爭奪會津地區，蘆名氏無視豐臣秀吉的「惣無事令」調停政策（豐臣政權於天正15年12月；西元1587年發布於關東和奥羽等地方，規定大名籓主不得私鬥或興兵攻伐彼此），結果蘆名義廣在摺上原之戰（摺上原の戦い）敗於伊達政宗，只好逃往常陸國（今天的茨城縣），因此黑川城易手，由伊達政宗進駐。天正18年（1590年），豐臣秀吉出兵後北條氏小田原城，並下令伊達氏派兵協助。由於政宗在戰前欺騙了秀吉，並且遲遲沒有作出決定，幸而在片倉景綱（片倉小十郎）提醒下，部隊最後還是出發。秀吉因此打算將他處死，於是政宗將其部隊全身白色裝束上陣，以表示忠誠。戰後由於出兵有功，所以伊達家能保持原有的領地，但是秀吉也以「違反惣無事令」為由，以及推行奥州仕置的政策，沒收了政宗在會津一帶的領地，也包括黑川城。從此黑川城則交由蒲生氏鄉支配。蒲生時代在小田原征伐（天正18年；1590年2月～7月）後，蒲生氏郷被秀吉改封到黑川四十二萬石（進行檢地後，又增加到九十二萬）。其後氏鄉於文禄元年（1592年）將所居的黑川城擴建，包括對城墎進行改造，將內町（民宅）進行整備並改名為會津若松城。此外氏鄉大力發展會津若松城，建立樂市，為日後的會津藩建立了基礎。文禄2年（1593年），一座望楼型七層結構（五重五層，包括地下二層）的天守竣工，被命名為「鶴城」（鶴ヶ城）。然而在慶長3年（1598年），氏郷之子蒲生秀行發生氏族中的騒動，結果被消減俸祿（從92萬石銳減到18萬石），還被遷移到下野国宇都宮（今天的群馬縣桐生市）。
