1,500 seasonal workers to fly into Ireland considered essential workers and required to quarantine, minister says

SOME 1,500 seasonal workers who are expected to fly into Ireland in the coming months are considered "essential workers" according to a government minister.
Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Charlie McConalogue said the workers will be expected to quarantine upon arrival into Ireland.

Some 1,500 workers flew into the country last year to work mostly on Irish fruit and vegetable farms. The same number of workers are expected to arrive this year.
Minister McConalogue said these workers are classified as essential workers.
