125 more schools to start face-to-face classes in January - Williams

Another 125 schools are to resume face-to-face classes by the start of the new school year on January 4, the Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Fayval Williams, has indicated.
However, with the COVID-19 pandemic still raging across the country, there is still some way to go before all students and teachers return to face-to-face interactions.
Of the 171 high schools spread across the country, 87 are classified as low-risk, with 66 deemed to be COVID-19 compliant by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, and as such, will be allowed to reopen for classes.
Among the 760 primary schools island-wide, 211 are classified as COVID-19 complaint and low-risk, with 59 meeting the Health Ministry’s criteria for reopening, said Williams.
