Some 39 individuals, among them youth leaders, concluded the second series of the Disaster Preparedness Coordination (DPC) training programme at the Youth Development Centre and the Berakas Forest Reserve.
Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong presented certificates of recognition and DPC jackets to mark the end of the four-day programme.
The programme aimed at enhancing knowledge on climate change adaptation and minimising disaster risks, including preparedness and response through joint coordination. It was organised by the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) with cooperation from departments and organisations, as a manifestation of the Youth’s Role in the Adaptation of Climate Change and Minimising Disaster Risks (CCA and DRR) held on November 18-19 last year.
