A Terrific 2020: Blockbuster theater news is great for movie lovers

Two new luxury cinemas made progress this year, with one recently opening.
Golden Ticket Cinemas, located in Uptown Aberdeen, formerly known as the Aberdeen Mall, opened Dec. 18, and showed Christmas classics and with newer films for $5 a ticket.
The response was excellent, according to a mall official.
Golden Ticket boasts nine auditoriums, though currently only five of them are open due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Golden Ticket Cinemas has upgraded sound systems, menus and luxury recliners.
“(Recliners) are the biggest difference. We did some cosmetic changes as well, a few little bells and whistles,” Golden Ticket Cinemas President John Bloemeke said.
